Prof. (Dr.) Srikrishna Deva Rao, a noted law professor and current Vice-Chancellor of NLU-Odisha has been elected as the Vice Chancellor of the National Law University, Delhi. He was also Former Registrar of NLU-D. 

Prof Rao is LLM from Kakatiya University, Warangal; MPhil in Law from NLSIU, Bangalore and Ph.D. from Delhi University.  He was a visiting fellow at School of Oriental & African Studies, SOAS, London in 2013 and University of Washington at Seattle in 2012. Prof. Rao has actively involved with legal education and research in National Law Universities like NLSIU, Bangalore, NALSAR, Hyderabad, GNLU, Gandhinagar and also the same NLU-Delhi.

The three-member Selection Committee elected Prof. Rao to replace NLU-D's Founding VC, Prof Ranbir Singh. He was shortlisted by the Selection Committee over two other candidates namely- Prof Paramjit Jaswal, VC of RGNUL Patiala and Prof Afzal Wani, Dean of University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIPU.
