To regulate the practice and procedure related to the use of e-filing in High Court, the Hon’ble Madhya Pradesh High Court has framed Electronic Filing in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh Rules, 2020.

One can visit the High Court web portal for E-filing. The steps for registration of advocates and litigants are in Rule-5 on the E-filing portals.

The parties and/or their advocates can digitally sign the documents. If anyone does not have a digital signature of the same shall be physically signed by the party/advocate according to Hon’ble High Court Rules and it shall be scanned and uploaded thereafter.

This contains an option to authenticate the documents by e-sign based on Aadhaar authentication. There are ‘Do’ and ‘Don’ts’ listed under these rules. Although, these rules require the filing of hard copy at the filing counter along with a certifying note that “Hard Copy and soft copy are the same’.
