CJI N.V Ramana suggested for “Indianisation“ of legal system

  • Recently in an event  organized by the Karnataka Bar Council in order to pay tribute to late Justice  M.M. Shatanagoudar, CJI N.V. suggested that it is need of the hour to make court proceedings simple and short for the benefit of common people.

  • The Chief Justice of India also said that court proceedings should be in simple language so ordinary that people don't feel that they are left out.

  • CJI also stated that courts should keep a check that the proceedings are not so lengthy, expensive and judgments should not be so technical that it becomes ordinary people to understand.

  • CJI also added that mechanisms of alternate dispute resolutions such as mediations and conciliation can help to reduce the pendency of the cases in the courts.


Special and different skill set are required to collect evidences proposed by  NIA 


  • Navneet Ranjan Wasan who is former Bureau of Police Research and Development Director General and now heads the NIA, stressed upon the concept of team investigation.

  • The National Investigation Agency (NIA)  experts stated that additional infrastructure and new set of skills are required to deal with the cases of cyber terrorism.

  • Experts also suggested that a provision for manpower training is required from time to time for efficient investigation with the inclusion of expert individuals into the domain.

  • Experts also suggested an institution set up for the training of experts for excellence and efficiency .


Rupees 20 crore tax evasion by Actor Sonu Sood


  • After searching premises linked to actor Sonu Sood, Income Tax Department issued a statement without taking the actor’s name that tax of more than Rupees 20 crore has been detected by it.

  • A total of 28 premises linked with the actor spread over Mumbai, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur, Delhi and Gurugram have been covered in the search operation by the IT department.

  • The IT Department said that the actor entered into a joint venture real estate project which is a Lucknow based infrastructure group and invested substantial amounts of funds which resulted in the detection of the tax evasion which was made by the actor.


Objection showed by Supreme Court to the pleas by bidders


  • Objection has been made by the Supreme Court where the government tenders are turning their ire into subjects of “public interest litigation (PIL)”.

  • The Supreme Court stated that unsuccessful tenderers approach the court with their imaginary grievances which is not at all accepted.

  • The court reiterated that the power to judicial review in the tender process is limited and the tender cases are crowding the court dockets unnecessarily.


Drone Strike in Kabul killed Civilians accepted by McKenzie


  • U.S Commander Kenneth F. McKenzie at a Pentagon press conference accepted that more than 10 civilians including seven children were killed in the drone strike.

  • McKenzie requested for sincere apologies and told the media that as the combatant commander he is fully responsible for the tragic outcome of the strike.

  • In the drone strike of August 29 the target was Zemari Ahmadi, who was initially mistaken as a member of the ISIS-K (Islamic State, Khorasan) terror group by U.S.


Foreign Interference in Russian Elections


  • Foreign interference was recorded by Russia’s election commission in its three day parliamentary elections.

  • Three cyber attacks were recorded on the Russian resources from the foreign countries as stated by the head of the election commission of Russia, Alexander Sokolchuk.

  • Alexander Sokolchuck said that the attacks were quite powerful  and two of the attacks among which were aimed at the commission’s website while the other attack was on the DDoS.


Afghan girls are to be excluded from returning to Secondary School reopen.


  • New Taliban Rulers on Saturday excluded girls from attending secondary school after the schools reopens.

  • New rulers ordered only boys and male teachers to return back to the schools.

  • The Taliban rulers have shut down the Ministry of Women Affairs with a notorious department for imposing strict religious doctrine during their previous rule but this time it allowed women to go to private universities with tough restrictions on their clothes.

  • Primary schools have been reopened with both boys and girls who were taught in separate classes and also some women teachers have been seen returning to their work.
